Coordinates and implements the Patient Care Services Performance Improvement Plan and Safety Program. Participates in data collection/collation/ analysis of process or outcome measurements. Proactively provides education to staff based on identified needs. Develops data displays, reports and presentations.
Directs and coordinates Patient Care Services Quality/PI activities. Collects, compiles, analyzes, interprets and reports data on the above and assigned clinical metrics to appropriate committees and individuals. Acts as a subject matter expert to achieve compliance with organizations and department goals by trending the collected and clinical practice data.
Uses clinical databases and national benchmarking to continuously identify opportunities for improved outcomes by utilization of best practice and current resources. Maintains a quality database, provides external reporting and coordinates all root cause analysis for the PCS Department.
Performs case review of patient care as defined by performance measures and standard of practice. Facilitates professional peer review process as needed.
Participates in appropriate forums for discussion of patient care practice standards and action planning.
5 years clinical experience and 2 years’ experience in Healthcare Quality required.
Must have current NJ RN license
Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint (including graphs e.g., line, pareto, and control graphs). Ability to manipulate databases.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent problem solving, planning and organizational abilities.
Detail oriented with attention to follow-up.
Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
CPHQ certification, Master’s degree in nursing or health related science
Bachelor’s degree in nursing
